TRIBUTE

TRIBUTE 36x36
Abstract pieces take a long time to complete. I don't have a formula and it feels like they are all beginning to look very similar. How to start and when to finish? and why bother?  Your opinion and ideas?
I dedicate this painting to a wonderful talent DEEDEE AGEE SPRECHER who lost her life to cancer last week.

JUST A START

I am in the midst of the Leslie Saeta 30 day paint challenge so please bear with me. These are just the start to 2 abstract pieces. I have no idea how they will end  up...but I will post when I am finished. I am always open to suggestions from fellow painters.

TACO STAND IN

TACO STAND IN
40x30
This is a work in progress. I painted over an old piece that has been around for too long. That gives a good start to an Abstract.
I am fostering this little street girl. She has been living on the streets at a taco stand for the past month. I can't offer her daily tacos but it is nice to get her health up to speed, Pretty cute pup. Her name is Chuletas...pork chops...or Chula for short

This has been a work in progress. I used house paint and sand from the river banks for texture  to begin with. The paint brush gets a real tooth to work with or against.

RIVER FEST

RIVERFEST 2016
Each year I paint a painting of El Rio Cuale for a beautiful fund raiser that is held on March 5.
I will post more about that as the days roll forward. Here are previous posters. They all look alike. This year I did it from my head and it still looks about the same as the older ones. What do you think?

PUMP IT UP

Look familiar? I know! These were my 2 previous posts. When I don't like a painting...I need to mess around with it. No need to look at the subject...just plaster paint on  like frosting on a cake. PUMP IT UP!

KIND OF GREY

KIND OF GREY

Miles Davis would get Blue-er seeing this painting! I am painting these little guys fairly quickly with no corrections. My process presently is to get "in the mood' to make some Art that makes me sing.
I was inspired this morning by SUSAN AHEARN
