Next steps

Step 1: Lay in some warm washes, establish simple values, use complementary colors

Step 2: Add darks, light patterns and play with various greens

Step 3: Just keep painting, backing up and re looking, establishing light and dark patterns, re- draw shapes to make more painterly....using  intuition at this point. Decide what is working and getting rid of what is not

Step 4: WORLD'S END 42x38

City Street

This is a 30x28 acrylic. I think I could have stopped a bit sooner, I had hoped to be more lose and free. I also did a still life today but you won't be seeing that one..I am a bit rusty after taking a few days off. It happens...Back to business tomorrow.I  need to follow my own advice and paint like a kindergardener...Just paint with no expectations

The painting workshop on August 4-5 still has a few places left. Come and join us!

One Point of View/Green Day

One Point of View
This 40x30 is a scene from Monhegan Island. I go up there each summer by myself. It is an art lover's paradise. A place to get REAL

Walk This Way 30x28 on canvas

Walk This Way

I went to Martha's Vineyard last week-end. This is the beach at the very end of Chappiquiddick. I did this small work on panel and a larger version on canvas of the same scene which can be viewed above.

Nothing but Organic

Very exciting..My daughter and grandson from California are here. Felix, aged 6 months only eats the best.....organic fruit and whole grains.

This painting was a happy accident for me. It was a painting over a painting, which I love to mess around with. Mess being the key word but beats perfectly controlled in my world.
